2025 GMC Sierra HD Performance
Most trim levels of the 2025 Sierra HD have a standard 401-hp 6.6L V8 gas engine under the hood, paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. This setup delivers 464 lb-ft of torque, translating to responsive acceleration and smooth handling on all surfaces. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but you can opt for the available four-wheel drive if you need improved traction and off-road capability.
Ready to haul heavy loads, the Sierra 3500 HD offers the choice between single and dual rear wheel setups, both options available on both drivetrains. Available on all trim levels and standard on the Denali Ultimate, a 6.6L turbo-diesel V8 engine offers 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. This engine also features an exhaust brake for improved towing control.

Whether you opt for the 2500 HD or the 3500 HD, both Sierra models offer serious towing power and payload capacity. The entry-level Sierra 2500 HD Pro model, fitted with the base regular cab and a long bed, boasts a maximum payload capacity of 3,907 lbs. You can get more from the 3500 HD Pro which has a maximum payload capacity of 4,721 lbs.
The actual cargo volume varies from 69.5 cubic feet to 83.5 cubic feet, depending on the bed length. Heavy-duty towing comes from the turbo-diesel engine that can pull up to 21,870 lbs in the 2500 HD models and up to 36,000 lbs in the 3500 HD. For easy bed access, you can customize the truck with the available MultiPro tailgate.

Beyond muscle, the new Sierra HD is a truck built for convenience and comfort. The regular cab has seating for up to three riders with a 40/20/40 split-fold bench and convenient under-seat storage. The double and crew cab styles offer seating for up to six riders with split-folding rear seats that allow you to transform the second row into a cargo area.
